Three race on the turf track at Lingfield Park
Yesterday evening three headed to Surrey for races under David Egan on good to soft ground at Lingfield. Sweet Charity maintained her consistency this season, running another very good race over ten furlongs and bumping into a very well handicapped horse trained by Chris Wall. She moved well on the ground and came with a good run from three out, and was beaten just over two lengths in second this time. Tiar Na Nog ran another good race once again, keeping an inside line and finding herself in behind a couple through the last two furlongs. She finished in fifth place, just three and a half lengths back, and she will be happy to return to her favoured track at Windsor for a couple more September races. Bobby Kennedy had his debut run over seven furlongs and he broke very well to go well for the first two furlongs, before meeting a patch of loose ground at the point where a road crosses the track. Here he lost his action and dropped well back from the field, and David was concerned that he may have injured himself and looked to pull him up. He quickly recovered to start moving well again, however, so David resumed riding and he moved much better once again to complete the race in touch with the tail end of the runners. He was fine this morning and so Bobby can look forward to another run with better fortune in the near future.
