Two juvenile debuts and another place for Sonnetina
At the weekend Lisdarragh made his track debut for Una Loughrey with a run over six furlongs, but he really didn't like the soft ground on this occasion and much better is hoped for him with a step up to seven furlongs on a better surface. Yesterday at Bath Caribou made a very exciting debut for owner Nasir Askar, Tom Queally making light of a very wide draw to get him across to race handily on the outer after a couple of furlongs. Only the highly regarded and experienced Soldier Lions had his beating, having had the run of the race and the benefit of the running rail under Charlie Bishop. Caribou raced on very well to finish a clear second, confirming that he can find a similar race over the full six furlongs or further. Sonnetina ran her usual good race, keeping on well to finish the mile in third place and well clear of the remainder of the field. The winning horse was Keeper's Choice, a long time stable star showing a good return to form for new connections off a very low handicap mark. It was great to see her looking so well, fit and happy in her racing.
