Heavy going hurdle debut for Power Home
Having overcome a few small niggles which kept her from making her hurdling debut last month, Power Home went up to Leicester yesterday for a novices event over just short of two miles. With rain falling throughout the morning the hurdles track was very testing indeed, but Power Home translated her hurdling practice really well into a race setting. Jockey Harriet Tucker was very impressed indeed with her hurdling technique and feels certain that she will go very well on better ground. Harriet pulled her up before the last hurdle, along with three rivals, and another fell at the last to leave just four finishers who were well strung out behind the emphatic odds on winner. The ground was so very tiring, reflected in very slow times and many pulling up in several races, and Power Home will certainly benefit from the experience to show up well on a sounder surface in future.
