Lisdarragh just misses the frame
The yard had a St.Patrick's Day runner as Una Loughrey's Lisdarragh headed up to Kempton to contest a Classified Stakes race over a mile. Following a five month break from racing, and having been gelded last autumn, it was always going to be interesting to see how he fared in a return to action. Sporting a visor, he was still a little keen in the early stages for jockey George Bass, and was then a little slow to respond to the change of pace from more experienced rivals at the top of the straight. He rallied well inside the final furlong but was always a few lengths from the front end, ultimately finishing fifth beaten just over four lengths at the line. Once he can translate his good homework onto the track he will be making the winners enclosure very soon.
