The ground remained good to soft at Bath, but a dry day saw the going get better through the day. Firstly Juanita made her debut in a Restricted Maiden Stakes under Cieren Fallon. Having waited a long time in the stalls she was slowly away, but made rapid headway in the middle part of the race against the far rail, and in the last two furlongs she had passed many rivals to finish strongly in fourth place. This was a really encouraging first run and she holds great promise to win for connections next time. In the last race over fourteen furlongs both Ruskin Red and Eagles Dare took their chances. Ruskin Red raced towards the rear of the field, but Laura Pearson looked to make a move forward from the half mile post. Ruskin Red made up quite a lot of ground but wasn't able to get on terms with the front four by the closing stages. Eagles Dare didn't really relish the stop-go tempo of the race, and although he travelled very smoothly Oisin Murphy felt that he went a bit too freely and used up a good bit of his energy in the first half of the race. Looking as if he was going well and getting into contention with three to race, he had little left to mount a challenge entering the last quarter mile and he faded considerably in the final furlong. Both of the horses will perhaps be aimed at twelve furlongs for their next runs.
