Eagles Dare at Chepstow makes fourth once more
With a reduced field of seven runners, yesterday's race for Eagles Dare at Chepstow had no front runners to set a good gallop, and the pace was very leisurely indeed through the first half of the contest before the climb to the top of the course. It then became a sprint down the undulations of the half mile straight, after jockey Laura Pearson had had to take evasive action turning in, with the eventual winner veering right awkwardly. Eagles Dare then kept on well in a sustained duel with the favourite and he ran on strongly through the final furlong to secure a clear fourth place a few lengths back from the winner. He appears to have maintained his fitness well, and a stronger test should suit him better and enable him to make the frame again soon.
