Things don't work out for Iskaheen or for My Ambition last evening
It was a case of a terribly dawdling pace for Iskaheen at Sandown Park yesterday evening, as the race time - over ten seconds slow - revealed that his two rivals just outsprinted him up the hill of the Surrey track and he finished four lengths behind them in third. A larger field and a genuine tempo would suit him much better next time as he is certainly ready to earn his first race win. Up at Leicester in a later race, My Ambition tore down to the seven furlong start, rather running away with apprentice jockey Aidan Keeley, who had teamed up with him for his recent Newbury victory. Inevitably, when he went to race the seven furlongs for the second time in quick succession, he found it hard to stay on terms and he then ran out of steam towards the last quarter mile to finish well behind., He is sure to come back to form provided he has much smoother preliminaries for his next outing.
