Golden Phase makes a nice debut
Yesterday evening at Kempton Park Golden Phase had her first outing in a division of a Novice Stakes over seven furlongs. She broke well under George Bass and was well placed on the inner and in touch with the leaders well into the top of the straight, after which the race became a duel between the two market principals for Andrew Balding and Richard Hannon. The West Ilsley Platinum's filly got a little tired inside the final furlong and faded to be beaten nine lengths, but it was a very commendable starting point for her racing career and she will hopefully be all the better for a similar race in a couple of weeks time.
