WATERLOO SUNSET WIN AT KEMPTON opens up many options
Denis and owner Tony Killoran were delighted with the run of Waterloo Sunset in the final race at Kempton Park yesterday evening. He was deserving of his second career win after a series of good runs and a great recent comeback run when he finished second. This time he stayed on really well under jockey Rob Hornby to take the lead half way up the home straight and to prevail by three parts of a length from the warm favourite in a competitve handicap. Showing that he handled the Kempton Park surface so well, this presents connections with a variety of races to target, going back to Kempton or heading to Lingfield Park or Wolverhampton, where Waterloo Sunset has previously shown good form too. A mile and a half may well be his optimum trip, and the Adaay gelding has been admirably consistent in his races and seemingly retains a lot of his enthusiasm for racing and finishing strongly.
