First flight for Ridgeway Redwing
Yesterday evening West Ilsley Racing's Kameko filly made her debut at Kempton Park, a seven furlong contest. She was a bit too keen and didn't settle well through the first two furlongs in what looked like a strong race, with several big yards represented by well bred fillies. This energy of doing a bit too much too soon counted in the straight, as George Bass reported that she got a little bit tired towards the end. She kept on well to finish fifth, however, on what must be regarded as a promising racecourse debut. Next time she will hopefully settle much better, with the experience of her first day at school under her belt, and Ridgeway Redwing should be a filly to follow.
