Denis was very happy indeed with Barry's Boy on the soft ground of the Doncaster track on its prestigious Futurity meeting. He just got squeezed out in the early stages of the seven furlongs under top claimer Sean D Bowen, and so he then had a more difficult race position to challenge from. Barry's Boy still managed a very good run on the stands rail to close right up into fourth place inside the final furlong, but had the race fallen more kindly for him he would have pressed for second place in what looked to be a very good race for this grade. Barry's Boy is coping well with raceday travelling now and he has shown a lot of promise at some top tracks this season.
