  Jockey Billy Loughnane surged to success aboard My Fermoy last night at Wolverhampton, the Kodiac gelding landing a nice prize for connections by winning over an extended nine furlongs. Taking My Fermoy quickly forward from the gate, drawn in the middle of a dozen runners, Billy then waited for some cover in running from the wider drawn horses, but when it came by the first bend this only served to light up My Fermoy so he really took some settling. Managing to switch him off in fourth, and then travel smoothly around the circuit the jockey wisely took his time to choose a slot to make his run up the home straight. Electing to come three wide of a line of four, My Fermoy was able to show he had more left, although he was carried to his right by the leader, and inside the last 75 yards he eased forward to prevail by half a length at the line. Billy reported that he really liked the horse and feels he will go on to better things. For Denis and Barbara this is quite an exciting prospect now, for a horse that has been so progressive throughout his time at Keeper's Stables
